Dental Bridges
Dental bridges are a great way to treat broken or missing teeth. We have decades of experience working with patients to get the smile they want, and dental bridges are a great option.
A dental bridge literally bridges the gap created by one or more missing teeth. A bridge is made up of two or more crowns for the teeth on either side of the gap and a false tooth or teeth in between.

WHAT IS A DENTAL BRIDGE?
A dental bridge is a fixed dental restoration used to replace one or more missing teeth by joining an artificial tooth permanently to adjacent teeth or dental implants. The bridge consists of two anchor crowns (abutments) placed on the teeth on either side of the gap, with a pontic (artificial tooth) in between. Bridges are typically made from porcelain, ceramic, or a combination of materials to match your natural teeth.
TYPES OF DENTAL BRIDGES
We offer several types of dental bridges available at West Veranda Dental Care:
- Traditional Bridges — The most common type, involving crowns on the adjacent teeth with a pontic in between.
- Cantilever Bridges — Used when there are adjacent teeth on only one side of the missing tooth.
- Maryland Bridges — A more conservative option that uses a metal or porcelain framework bonded to the backs of adjacent teeth.
- Implant-Supported Bridges — Supported by dental implants rather than natural teeth, ideal for replacing multiple missing teeth.
BENEFITS OF DENTAL BRIDGES
Dental bridges offer many important benefits, including restoring your smile and ability to chew and speak properly. They maintain the shape of your face, prevent remaining teeth from drifting out of position, and distribute the forces of your bite properly. Bridges are a durable, long-lasting solution that can last 10-15 years or more with good care.
THE DENTAL BRIDGE PROCEDURE
Getting a dental bridge typically requires two visits to our office. During the first visit, we prepare the abutment teeth by reshaping them to allow room for the crowns, take impressions, and fit you with a temporary bridge. At the second visit, the permanent bridge is checked, adjusted if needed, and permanently cemented into place.
